Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an American-born British sitarist as well as a music producer. She's the smallest woman and the first to be awarded a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young rising superstar on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is the daughter and pupil of Ravi Shankar. She was a child who bounded back and forth from London and New Delhi. The first time she performed was at New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. Later she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha even though she is just a teenager, has had a successful performing and recording career. She is often seen performing together with her dad, and has performed with him for a long time years. She released Anourag her first album solo in 1998. The Grammy Award-winning album Live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. As she's appeared on many of the biggest stages around across the globe, she's career on stage is extensive. Anoushka's career does not only involve musical performances. In 2002, she wrote a book entitled Bapi The love of My Live this is an illustrated biography that gives a special honor to her late father Ravi Shankar. The year 2003 saw her appeared in Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her career and there will be many other things to be expected from this talented woman. Anoushka was raised in England and spent a lot of her growing up in between London and Delhi. Then she moved to California and attended the high school there. Anoushka started her music studies at age nine. Four years later she played her first music debut with the sitar Delhi at her father's 75th birthday celebration. Anoushka was able to gain a variety of valuable experiences when she accompanied her father when he toured the world. It included performances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festivals in addition to making recordings together with George Harrison. Her talent and musicality was recognised by British parliament as among the finest in Asian Arts.
