Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's had great fame with the stories that she shares about her childhood heartbreak. Swift's love for music started in the early years of her life. From children's plays to performing before thousands, Swift made rapid progress. Swift was just 11 when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers Basketball game. Following that she started writing her own songs and got a guitar. Swift had taken her inspirations from Shania Twain's music and that of her band the Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks in the world in country music created the original songs she wrote to express the feeling of being alienated. Swift left Pennsylvania together with her parents, to Hendersonville, Tennessee when she turned 13 to devote more time to contacting the country music labels.
